There are a number of different operators offering cruises on the Daintree River, each with their own unique style and focus.
Some cruises are more focused on birdwatching, while others are more focused on spotting crocodiles and other reptiles.
During your cruise, you can expect to see a wide variety of birds, including kingfishers, herons, and eagles, as well as reptiles such as crocodiles and snakes.
In addition to the wildlife, you will also have the opportunity to learn about the history and ecology of the Daintree River from your knowledgeable guide.
Lady Douglas River Cruise leaves from the Port Douglas Marina, making it a great option for people who don’t have a car to drive up to the Daintree River. While cruising along the beautiful Dickson Inlet expect great commentary about Port Douglas and a high chance of seeing crocodiles and other wildlife.
The Daintree River Cruises that are most on your way on your drive to the Daintree National Park are Crocodile Express and Solar Whisper. You find both these cruises right next to the Daintree Ferry on the southern side of the Daintree River.
Solar Whisper is an electric boat, which makes for a more quiet experience.
With Crocodile Express you are welcome to join a second cruise for free within a month of your first cruise.
A couple of kilometers passed the turn off to the Daintree Ferry you will find Bruce Belchers & Son River Cruises. This is a very popular cruise, hosting most of the guided Daintree Tours.
In Daintree Village you will find Crocodile Express’ other departure option and Daintree Boatman. Daintree Boatman runs 2 hour cruises at sunrise and sunset with a strong focus on bird watching, this is one for the true nature lovers and bird watchers.
